Link-Local Multicast Name Resolution (LLMNR) is a protocol that is based on Domain Name System (DNS). It essentially allows systems to resolve DNS names to their respective IP addresses on both IPv4 and IPv6 networks. By default, this was included in Microsoft Windows Vista and higher. This feature has also been enabled by default on all of its operating systems that it was installed with.
